Kitchen Refurbishments in Caversham

Kitchen refurbishments in Caversham by Stephen Anthony Developments. New kitchens fitted properly, including the plumbing, wiring, plastering and flooring that has to happen before a single unit goes in.

A New Kitchen From Start to Finish

A kitchen refurbishment is a building job with units at the end of it. Strip out, then any structural change, then plumbing and wiring, then plaster and floor, then units, worktops and appliances. Done in that order it goes smoothly. Done out of order it does not.

More Information

Moving Sinks, Sockets and Appliances

Changing the layout means moving waste pipes, water feeds and electrics. Waste needs a fall to work, so sink positions are not always as free as a plan suggests. We work out what can move and what cannot before the design is signed off.

Worktops, Flooring and Finish

Worktops are templated after the units are fitted, which usually means a wait of a week or two before they arrive. Flooring goes down before or after depending on the type. Knowing that sequence up front means you can plan around being without a kitchen.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a kitchen refurbishment take in Caversham?

Usually two to four weeks. A straight replacement in the same layout sits at the shorter end. Moving plumbing, taking out a wall or replastering pushes it towards four. Worktop templating adds a wait of a week or so in the middle.

Can I supply my own kitchen units?

Yes, plenty of clients do. We will check the plan and the parts list before delivery, because missing panels and wrong sized units are the usual cause of delay. If you would rather we supplied everything, we can do that instead.

Will I be without a kitchen for the whole job?

Mostly, yes. We can usually leave you a working sink and a space for a kettle and microwave for part of it, but there will be a stretch with no cooker or sink. We tell you which weeks those are so you can plan around it.
